Do you have a sliding scale or reduced fee rate?

We understand that finances can be a barrier to therapy for some folks. As a result, we set aside a number of spaces in our practice for those who have significant financial need. Julie does not currently have any openings for reduced rate clients but does maintain a waitlist for this. Please inquire about openings and to discuss if you might qualify.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards or HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of service.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance.

While I understand that many insurance companies offer coverage, oftentimes their requirement of a mental health diagnosis and specifics around treatment can be limiting for clients. There are many diagnoses that insurance companies will not cover or clients that may not meet the full criteria for a diagnosis. Insurance companies may restrict the amount of sessions and time within a session that a person can have. In order to provide the best service possible to you, we use private pay.

You can submit your sessions directly to your insurance company via a Superbill, which we can provide on request. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly for whatever out-of-network benefits your plan covers. Please be sure to confirm with your insurance company if you have these benefits and what they might be, before scheduling an appointment with me.

Do you provide telehealth?

Absolutely! In fact, that’s how we offer all therapy appointments at this time. We use a HIPAA compliant platform to ensure your privacy and ask that you set yourself up in an environment that’s conducive for you for therapy.

Will you provide a mental health diagnosis?

While I am trained to and will assess for a mental health diagnosis, a diagnosis is only required if you choose to use your mental health benefits through insurance (i.e. if you want to submit for reimbursement with out-of-network benefits). Otherwise, we can discuss how it may be helpful to work within the framework of a diagnosis (should you meet full criteria).

What is your cancellation policy?
Downward facing chevron icon

I require a 24-hour notice for cancellations, otherwise it is a $75 fee. If you will be more than 20 minutes late to our appointment, I consider this a no-show and you will be charged the full session fee, and we will reschedule your appointment to ensure that you get the most out of our time together.

If I have therapy pertaining to sexual concerns, is there any touch involved?
Downward facing chevron icon

While we believe that sex surrogates can provide wonderful help to certain clients, we are not sex surrogates and therefore, touch is not involved in treatment. There may be times that we refer you to a specialist where touch may be involved (such as a gynecologist or pelvic floor physical therapist); however, our time together will be spent talking through the concerns you have. We will provide tools for you to work with outside of session.
