Brooke Pratcher
Hi, I’m Brooke Pratcher, a student at Xavier University working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a counseling intern, I’m passionate about creating a safe and supportive space for individuals and couples to explore their thoughts, feelings, and relationships. My decision to focus on the African American and LGBTQIA+ communities stems from the lack of diversity I’ve seen in the counseling field—especially among professionals who share these identities. As an LGBTQIA+ individual myself, I’m committed to providing affirming care that truly resonates with my clients.
My approach is client-centered, emphasizing empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative dynamic. I value creating a nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to grow and heal at their own pace. I believe that fostering cultural humility and continually educating myself are essential to providing inclusive and affirming care.
